For older types of AK-47 with a bare body where mounting screws through two holes in the body on its underside before magazine. A second large group is primarily designed for modern types AK-74, but some types go on side rails sniper rifles like SVD, VSS and AS Val. As already mentioned, the base is slid on the side rail, which is firmly fixed to the left side of the body, or directly in it.
