AEG | Automatic Electric Gun (AEG). The most commonly used and most effective airsoft guns. Realistically made models of real firearms. They offer the possibility of firing single shots or auto fire mode - cadence is similar to their real arms, often even higher. The shooting used plastic balls 6 mm caliber of different weights (from 0.20 to 0.45 g) which shoot a rate of approximately 100 - 150 m/s. Weapons basic version achieve very good accuracy and range of about 45 meters. Upgraded models with stronger spring may have range about 100 meters. Electric guns are easy to user maintain. |

GBB | Gas Blow Back. Weapons of this construction the most perfectly copy function of real arms and shooting feeling is really perfect. During firing with this system moves slide and make a sensible kickback. This construction is used for airsoft gas pistols, but also some machine guns and assault rifles. The necessary feature is the use of a propellant gas - type GreenGas, HFC 134/144a or CO2. This is easily filled from the external bottle to the reservoir, or in the case of weapons CO2 used single replaceable cartridge. Guns are not generally suitable for colder weather. Guns type GBB require regular and careful maintenance, cleaning and lubrication. |
GNB | Gas Non Back. This construction is generally used for airsoft gas pistols, but also some types of rifles. For propel GNB serves propellants like GreenGas, HFC 134/144a or CO2. This is easily filled from the external bottle to the reservoir, or in the case of weapons CO2 used single replaceable cartridge. These guns have not moving slide and they have always tougher trigger than GBB models. The advantage over a system with BlowBack usually achieve higher muzzle velocity and far less gas consumption. Guns are not generally suitable for colder weather since then threaten to gas leaks or other defects, and various disfunctions. Guns type GNB require regular maintenance and lubrication. |
BlowBack | Gas Blow Back. Weapons of this construction the most perfectly copy function of real arms and shooting feeling is really perfect. This construction is used for airsoft gas pistols, but also some machine guns and assault rifles. The function, which drive these weapons used propellants. BlowBack system is increasingly being used to enhance realism effect. However, this function is compensated by higher consumption of battery and higher loading of the internal components. |
Low-cap magazine | Low-cap magazines is most commonly used in spring operated guns, gas and AEP weapons. There are also variations of the magazines made for electric AEG guns. It is designed primarily for users who require more airsoft reality associated with frequent overcharging. Slight disadvantage of these containers is the necessity of filling BBs through the upper window (simply solved using speedloader) and also the capacity of the balls in the magazine is about one third compared to hi-cap magazines. The advantage is noiselessness. |
Wind Up Hi-cap Magazine | Wind Up Hi-cap magazine most commonly used as original equipment to AEG weapons. The advantage of this magazines is reliability and large capacity of several hundred BBs. Function of this magazines consists in the fact that the balls are dislodged from the tunnel using a mill with paddles. The disadvantage is the necessity of using a rotating wheel located on the bottom of the magazine (sometimes uses the pull-wire or key) and a typical feature is the rattle of BBs. |
Hop-Up | Device that gives to BBs backward rotation which causes the airflow due to buoyancy (the principle known for airplane wings), and thus effectively overcome gravitational force and settlement of ballistic curve. Guns equipped with this device have a range of about 50% higher than without the Hop-Up and at the same muzzle velocity. Right set hop-up will significantly increase the range weapons even at relatively low muzzle velocity. Airsoft guns can have an adjustable Hop-Up, fixed Hop-Up, or it may completely without. |
Semi-auto | Semi-automatic firing mode. After pulling the trigger, gun fire only one bullet. For the next shot is necessary to pull the trigger again. This shooting mode is possible to simply set by fire selector lever on the weapon. It is typical for electric type weapons AEG/AEP and gas weapons. |
Full-auto | Full automatic shooting mode. For pressing the trigger gun continuously shots until the trigger is released. This shooting mode is possible to simply set by the fire selector lever on the weapon. It is typical for electric type weapons AEG/AEP and some gas weapons. |
Burst | Weapon after pressing the trigger shoot defined number of shots (usually 3 shots), and for the next shots must be released and then pull the trigger again. Some AEG allow you to program the number of shots fired. |
AEP | Automatic Electric Pistol (AEP). This name is typical for compact airsoft weapons (mainly pistols), which operate on the principle of electric motor and battery. Main advantage are the low-cost operation and choice between semi and automatic fire mode. AEP reach the muzzle velocity of about 65 m/s and range of about 35 meters. |
DMR | Designated Marksman Rifle (gun designed for precision shooting). In real weapons are mostly modified assault rifle, equipped with a longer and stronger barrel, optics (riflescopes), bipod, and other specifics equipment. In airsoft are usually used AEG equipped with riflescope, bipod, silencer and other tactical accessories. The majority of these weapons upgrading to increase range and accuracy. |
BULLPUP | Weapons (mostly assault rifles) that are specific for the location of the magazine behind the trigger. Thanks to this ingenious design these weapons have compact size, long barrel and excellent maneuverability. |
Fixed Hop-Up | A device for giving the bullet backward rotation, which straighten ballistic curve and increases the range is called Hop-Up. Weapons with a fixed variant are factory set, with no possibility of control. The pressure is therefore permanently set and can not be changed by the user. When using a weapon with a fixed Hop-up it is necessary to respect the recommended weight of ammunition. With lower weight of BBs permits longer range weapon (hop-up allows the bullet due to the lower weight more rise), but on the contrary, lower accuracy. On the other side, heavier BBs are advantageous when the need for better accuracy, but the range will be shorter. |
Adjustable Hop-Up | A device for giving the bullet backward rotation which straighten ballistic curve and increases the range is called Hop-Up. Weapons with adjustable Hop-Up allow continuous pressure adjusted by the user, so it is very easy and comfortable to achieve optimal Hop-Up effects and using different types of BBs (various weights and manufacturer). If you prefer a higher shooting accuracy for shorter distances, so we recommend using a higher weight BBs. If you require a higher initial muzzle velocity or want to shoot more cheaply, so choose lower weight. It should be understood that a higher initial velocity does not automatically mean a longer range. Weapons with high performance reach a longer range, using heavier of BBs. |
Lowcap | Magazines with a basic capacitance, BBs are filled to the magazine from top and during firing are loaded by compression spring. The advantages lie in the realistic capacity and produces no noise. |
